Nucor to invest $350 million in North Carolina micro mill steel plant
Aug 10, 2023Nucor, based in Charlotte, N.C., will locate a new, $350 million micro mill steel plant in Lexington, N.C., creating at least 180 jobs.
The facility will produce steel bar and rebar with nearly 100% recycled content. When fully operational, the plant is expected to produce up to 430,000 tons of rebar annually.
Nucor manufactures a variety of steel and steel products, including carbon and alloy steel sold as bars, beams, sheet, plate, and hollow section tubing.
